I think it may be real because I've been using it continuously for 15 years the damn thing won't die! Anyone opting for a metal tag do not waste your money with eBay etc. It may not be the original vintage tag my bag was issued with but at least I know it is authentic. I went with gold to complement my bag's brass hardware. They supply them in 3 tones: light gold, silver, and gunmetal.
